Amazon Prime’s latest thriller series is topping the charts with its racy storyline full of mind-bending twists.
The streaming platform has released its latest hit, a seductive thriller in the mystery genre. Just days after its premiere, it’s taken the number one spot, and viewers are hooked.
The new show has already reached the top spot of the Prime charts, with fans raving over the series, saying it’s better than HBO’s The White Lotus.
Viewers have taken to social media to share their opinions on the six-episode psychological thriller series.

The show’s official synopsis reads: “In this juicy psychological thriller, Laura has it all: a glittering career, a loving husband, and her prized son, Daniel.
“But her perfect life unravels when Daniel brings home Cherry, a girlfriend who changes everything. Laura’s convinced Cherry is hiding something. Is she a manipulative social climber, or is Laura just paranoid? The truth is a matter of perspective.”
The show is an adaptation of Michelle Frances’s 2017 novel of the same name, which explores a mother-son-girlfriend type dynamic.
Robin Wright stars as the lead in the show, which she also directed alongside Andrea Harkin.
The psychological thriller also stars House of the Dragon’s actress Olivia Cooke, Laurie Davidson, and Waleed Zuaiter.
The show makes for a unique viewing experience, using separate storylines by splitting each episode into two distinct perspectives.
Alternating between the viewpoints of the mother, Laura, and her son’s girlfriend, Cherry.
Cooke spoke with Stylist about her character in The Girlfriend: “One of Cherry’s strengths is her sensuality and how unabashed she is when it comes to s**, her enjoyment of it, and her ability to attract and snare. I wanted to reflect how siren-like she is.”
