The Mission Impossible star has died at the age of 97.
The family of the Hollywood star announced that he sadly passed away at his home in Beverly Hills just yesterday (20 July).
Requests have been made to give donations to either the Entertainment Community Fund or the Pasadena Humane Society, instead of giving flowers in the wake of his death, as per the Mirror.
The star studied at the Herbert Berghof Studio in Manhattan, after moving to New York, in 1948.
But his acting career was shortly put on pause, after serving in the Korean War between 1950 and 1953.
Later on in his career he also founded a Los Angeles-based acting school, The Faculty, alongside Charles Nelson Reilly, Lu Leonard, John Erman, and Dom DeLuise.
Tributes from fans of the actor have flooded in from all over the world.
One said: “Rest in peace.
“What a remarkable life and legacy he leaves behind. Honoring his contributions to the stage and screen, a true legend to the very end.”
“True legend of stage and screen,” another added.
“Your talent, legacy, and contributions to the arts will never be forgotten. Deepest condolences to his loved ones.”
A third noted: “I don’t know this actor but he lived a long time not many people reach 97 years old.
“He was blessed and I send my condolences.”
The star, Tom Troupe, is survived by his son Christopher Troupe, daughter-in-law Becky Coulter, and granddaughter Ashley Troupe.
He was married to Carole Cook, known for her role in Sixteen Candles, until she tragically passed away of heart failure at the age of 98 in 2023.
And he wasn’t just an on-screen sensation, Troupe also had his fair share of stage roles.
His Broadway debut was in Peter van Daan’s 1957 adaptation of The Diary of Anne Frank.

He flourished in the world of acting, with some of his most iconic roles being David Day in the Mission: Impossible TV series, and Lieutenant Matthew Harold in the Star Trek TV series.
He also starred in Kelly’s Heroes, a 1970 war comedy drama, directed by Brian G.
One fan noted: “That leaves Clint Eastwood as the last surviving cast member of Kelly’s Heroes.”
Another added: “Hung out with Tom and his lovely wife Carol Cook at a fundraiser Theatre Cares for Aids. They were so much fun and down to earth.
“Carry on, on that stage in Heaven you two!”
He was also known for his roles in The Fugitive, Wild West, Mary Hartman, The Wild, Cagney and Lacey, Murder She Wrote, CHiPs, and Knots Landing.
Another fan wrote: “He lived a long life and now he’s back with Carole Cook, may they both rest in peace.”
As one said: “What a blessing his life was, may he now rest in eternal peace.”
The star died just five days after his 97th birthday on July 15.
