Netflix Thriller Is So Scary Viewers Turn It Off After Just Two Minutes

A Netflix thriller has been branded ‘so scary’ that viewers can’t watch anymore than two minutes.

Netflix is known for spoiling its viewers with a thriller or two every once in a while, but there’s one that viewers have said really tested their resilience.

The film has a star-studded cast, including three Oscar winners: Denzel Washington (Training Day), Rami Malek (Bohemian Rhapsody) and Jared Leto (Dallas Buyers Club).

It follows the story of two detectives (Washington and Malek), as they investigate a series of murders that lead them to a loner (Leto) who might be the culprit.

The film was initially released in 2021, but has found new lease of life on the streaming platform, having reached the top ten list when it first landed.

Viewers have since taken to social media to react to the movie, with many admitting it left them creeped out.

One said: “This film has become a very beloved and underrated gem upon repeat viewings.”

As another wrote: “WOW!!!

“From the magnificent casting, to the cinematography, and accompanying soundtrack – this movie is COMPELLING.”

A third added: “It’s a perfect older-style detective film!

“It had complex backgrounds for the characters and good acting.

“If you are looking for something focused on classic detective work, this is definitely worth looking into.”

If one things for sure, it seems to have left people on the edge of their seats.

The official synopsis reads: “It’s the ’90s, and a killer is on the loose in Los Angeles.

“Bodies have been washing up, and the murderer is nowhere to be found.

“But when an obsessive deputy sheriff from the country teams up with a by-the-book detective, their relentlessness leads them down a dark road that brings them inches away from the truth… or so they think.”

But some people have said the film is almost too anxiety-inducing.

One noted: “2min 52 sec into Netflix’s The Little Things and it’s made me so anxious I’ve had to turn it off.”

But despite mostly glowing reviews, the film has a score of 44 percent on Rotten Tomatoes.

Director John Lee Hancock has long been drawn to portraying true stories, but The Little Things is not one of them.

He actually wrote the script for the film in the early ’90s, but it eventually took three decades to bring it to the screen.

Speaking about bringing the idea to life, he told GQ magazine: “I don’t remember exactly when I came up with the idea.

“I don’t even remember exactly why. I was a fan of crime drama and adult drama and psychological thrillers and started piecing this one together.”
