Netflix’s three-part documentary series is already generating buzz among true crime enthusiasts.
In fact, fans suggest it’s one of the most disturbing disappearance cases ever captured on film.
One fan pens: “I’m NEVER going on a cruise. The fact that she just vanished from her balcony and the crew did nothing for hours… I have chills. This poor family.”
“It’s 3 AM and I can’t sleep after watching. The photos of that woman who might be her… I can’t get them out of my head. This is the most disturbing true crime doc I’ve ever seen,” another adds.
A third agrees: “PSA: Do NOT watch the documentary before bed like I just did. I’m wide awake thinking about human trafficking and that poor girl. This case is absolutely terrifying.”
The documentary, directed by Ari Mark and Phil Lott (known for This Is the Zodiac Speaking and The Invisible Pilot), reconstructs the chilling events of March 24, 1998.
The series delves into the haunting 1998 disappearance of 23-year-old Amy Lynn Bradley, who vanished without a trace from a Royal Caribbean cruise ship in the Caribbean.
Amy Bradley, a recent Longwood University graduate and strong swimmer who had worked as a lifeguard, was on what should have been a dream family vacation aboard the Rhapsody of the Seas with her parents Ron and Iva Bradley, and her younger brother Brad.
The night before her disappearance, Amy and Brad had been dancing and drinking with the ship’s band, Blue Orchid, at a disco party on the ninth-floor deck.
One band member, Alister ‘Yellow’ Douglas, was particularly close to Amy that evening, captured on video dancing with her.
The siblings returned to their cabin around 3:35 a.m., where they sat on the balcony talking before Brad went to sleep.
What happened next has haunted the Bradley family for over 27 years.

At 5:15 a.m., Amy’s father Ron checked on his children and saw Amy still sleeping on the lounge chair on their cabin’s balcony, per 12 On Your Side.
When he returned at 6:00 a.m., she was gone, along with her cigarettes and lighter. All that remained was a polo shirt draped across a chair in the room, indicating she had returned to the cabin at some point.
The family’s desperate pleas to the crew to prevent the 2,000 passengers from disembarking were initially ignored.
The crew waited until 7:50 a.m. to make an announcement, by which time most passengers had already left the ship. This crucial delay may have sealed Amy’s fate.
The documentary features chilling testimony from three witnesses who claimed to have seen Amy on the upper deck with Alister Douglas between 5:30 and 5:45 a.m.
They described seeing Douglas hand Amy a drink containing dark liquid and witnessed them arriving together in an elevator. Most unsettling was their account of Douglas leaving the upper deck alone shortly after 6:00 a.m.
When Douglas approached Brad after Amy’s disappearance, saying: “Hey man, I’m sorry to hear about your sister,” no announcement had yet been made.
The timing struck the family as deeply suspicious, though Douglas passed a polygraph test during FBI questioning.

The documentary explores several spine-chilling encounters, including one in January 1999, U.S. Navy petty officer William Hefner claimed a woman in a Curaçao brothel approached him.
Per Netflix, she said ‘her name was Amy Bradley and begged him for help,’ explaining she was held against her will.
Hefner didn’t report the incident until 2002, fearing for his Navy career.
In August 1998, Canadian divers on a Curaçao beach reported seeing a woman matching Amy’s description with two ‘aggressive men,’ one resembling Douglas.
The woman allegedly tried to subtly communicate with the English-speaking divers before being led away. The witnesses accurately described Amy’s tattoos and watch.
Perhaps most disturbing are photographs discovered online showing a woman resembling Amy working as a s** worker known as ‘Jas.’
The images, which the FBI could not authenticate, show the woman appearing ‘distraught and despondent.’
The family’s ordeal was compounded by Frank Jones, a man claiming to be a former Navy SEAL who convinced them he could rescue Amy.
Viewers who have watched documentary are all saying the same thing.
One wrote: ‘The disappearance of #AmyBradley is one of the saddest, most infuriating cases I’ve seen.
“I wish we could all arm ourselves & go down to each of those islands & search every inch for her. Thought of her still alive & trapped makes me despair. Please find her.”
As another added: “The saddest thing for me watching this documentary is there were so many chances for someone who said they saw Amy Bradley to do something, and yet she was left behind again and again and again.”
Over months, he fed them false hope and extracted $210,000 from the desperate family before being exposed as a fraud and sentenced to five years in prison.

The documentary features heartbreaking interviews with the Bradley family, who have never given up hope.
“After several years passed, you figure out that the not knowing is the only thing that allows you to continue to have hope,” Brad Bradley explains in the series.
The family maintains a tip line and has raised funds through GoFundMe to pursue credible leads. They’ve endured decades of false sightings, cruel online harassment, and the psychological torture of not knowing Amy’s fate.
As the documentary reaches a global audience, the Bradley family hopes the renewed attention will generate new leads.
“We’re gearing up for, hopefully, what will be an avalanche of phone calls and emails from, who knows where, all over the world, trying to help us find her,” Brad Bradley said.
The FBI continues to offer a $25,000 reward for information leading to Amy’s recovery, while the family has posted a $250,000 reward for her safe return.
