A Netflix thriller TV show has left viewers hot under the collar, thanks to its intense eroticism.
Since its debut, the show has generated a whirlwind of reactions, with many comparing it to steamy hits like 365 Days, You, and Fifty Shades of Grey.
Fans have taken to social media to share their astonishment.
One viewer tweeted: “Five minutes in and we have a murder & a cheating husband. This is already fabulous!!!”
While another exclaimed: “This is literally the biggest mind f***. 10 episodes in and I can’t even tell you the plot cause I have 0 idea what’s happening!”
Despite the overwhelming buzz, critical reception has been more mixed. Leisurebyte described the show as ‘a mix of 365 Days, 50 Shades of Grey and around a thousand plots,’ noting that the excessive sensual scenes quickly become ‘stale and disturbing.’
Similarly, Heaven of Horror suggests that constant steamy moments start to overshadow the narrative, writing: “The amount of sensual scenes and steamy moments just gets in the way of the story.”
Still, many agree that the production value is high, the cast performances compelling, and the pacing addictive.
The series, led by Rebelde star Maite Perroni and Alejandro Speitzer, follows Alma, a married law professor, who gets swept up in a passionate affair with a younger man during a weekend away, only to find herself entangled in a murder investigation and a series of dark revelations.

The series’s appeal clearly goes beyond its X-rated storyline.
Many fans were particularly taken with Speitzer’s portrayal of Darío Guerra, the enigmatic and seductive student.
Comments like: “Alejandro Speitzer is playing a role that makes me hate him, but he’s handsome!” and: “Why is Darío making me question all my morals?” flooded social media.
Regardless of where one stands on the show’s artistic merit, its popularity is indisputable.
At the time of release, Dark Desire became Netflix’s most-watched non-English title, pulling in over 35 million viewers in just 28 days, per GoodTo.
It might not be high art, but for many, Dark Desire is pure guilty-pleasure gold.
