Viewers say they’ve found the ‘best series‘ and want to ‘watch it over again.’
Crime dramas remain popular, offering a mix of suspense, puzzle-solving, exploration of human psychology, and a sense of safety in experiencing dark themes within a controlled narrative.
One crime drama, in particular, has kept viewers hooked from start to finish, and they are watching it all over again.
Raving about the drama on social media, one fan comments: “I thoroughly enjoyed this series and it definitely left me wishing there was more to watch! Though disturbing at times.”
Highly recommend and enjoy watching it again when in the mood for an excellent and intriguing drama,” another adds.
A third person says: “This series appeals to the darker side of my brain, and I love the twists and turns of each season.”
“Apart from some gratuitously gruesome images, this was a brilliantly conceived plot with all strands resolved convincingly. Gripped throughout a binge-watch of all 3 series,” somebody else shares.
Critics have praised the crime drama, Tirdad Derakhshani wrote for the Philadelphia Inquirer: “Complex, ultra dark, and filled with more red herrings than an Agatha Christie novel, it’s a unique, powerful crime drama.”
Emily Baker said for The I Paper: “Confusing, bold and hyperbolic – I’m hooked.”
It has also scored an impressive rating of 70% on Rotten Tomatoes and 7.3/10. on IMDb.
The show is a Nordic noir, also known as Scandinavian noir, which is a genre of fictional crime written from the police’s point of view. This series takes place in the U.K.

The show’s official synopsis reads: “Anna Friel stars as a troubled detective, back on the force after raising kids. She grapples with complex murder cases while trying to manage her precarious mental state.”
The British Nordic Noir detective series was written and directed by Swedish screenwriter Hans Rosenfeldt, also known for creating the crime series The Bridge.
The series stars Anna Friel, Ray Panthaki, Nina Sosanya, Jamie Bamber, Jack Doolan, and Florence Pugh.
The ITV original aired the first season with eight episodes, followed by two more seasons. Despite the show being a success, season four has not been confirmed.
Lead actress Friel told Hello Magazine at the time of the release of the last season: “It was always intended to be a trilogy, but the end of the third season is left very much open. I guess it depends on how much the viewers here like it.”
However, Marcella creator Rosenfeldt has previously suggested to The Sun a potential for a spin-off show.
Fans say Marcella is very much worth watching and is perfect for a weekend of bingeing.
