The brand-new Netflix sitcom has received a 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes, and fans can’t stop binge-watching it.
We all know that Netflix do true crime thrillers and investigative documentaries really well.
But if you’re in the mood for something more light-hearted, this brand-new ‘addictive’ sitcom will have you belly-laughing.
The comedy arrived on the streaming platform just yesterday, and viewers simply cannot get enough.
One fan of the show said: “Hilarious to me and will binge watch, because I can’t stop.”
Another added: “I am laughing out loud every episode.”
As a third noted: “I found myself laughing out loud one minute and tearing up the next.”
“I LOL’d in every episode,” another expressed.
“After binge watching the whole season in one sitting, I can say – it’s refreshing to have such a wholesome comedy!”
Star of the show is comedian Leanne Morgan, who is also a co-creator and executive producer on the series.
The sitcom is inspired by her stand-up, and she revealed that despite the process being ‘challenging,’ it’s something she’s always wanted to do.
Speaking to Netflix’s Tudum, the star and exec producer said: “This is something I’ve dreamed of since I was a little girl, and it was just as exciting as I imagined.
“Learning a new medium was definitely a challenge — memorizing new scripts every week was totally new for me — but I loved it.
“As a stand-up, the comedic timing felt natural, and filming in front of a live audience was especially comfortable.”
She added: “By the end of the season, it really felt like home.”
Leanne, the title of the sitcom, follows the story of her character’s life being turned upside down, when her husband of 33 years leaves her for another woman.
The concept showcases that while starting life over when you’re a grandmother and in menopause isn’t exactly ideal, with the help of your family, you can face a new chapter with grace, dignity, and Jell-O salad.
Morgan said: “There’s the vulnerability of opening yourself up after being abandoned by the person you built your life with.

One viewer said: “This show is genuinely hilarious! I love all the themes of self-discovery and starting over later in life.”
Another agreed, adding: “I really like the show, it’s light-hearted, funny at times and has a kind of retro feel to it.
“It’s relatable about issues but not so in-your-face that it becomes unwatchable.
“Finished season one in a day and really hope they make more seasons!”
And it seems that Morgan is just getting started, as Netflix has also signed on for two more stand-up specials from the comedy powerhouse, to follow up her hit debut special in 2023.
